Interesting. However I think Bezdek is by far too optimistic in a) having the peak in 10-30 years (I believe we are already past peak) the help of technology and how alternatives such as oil sands, oil shale etc, would help. The impact of oil sands and oil shale will be minimum at best. The energy needed to produce oil out of oil sands or oil shale will make it too expensive to produce (see comments from Kjell Aleklett http://www.canadianbusiness.com/markets/commodities/article.jsp?content=20061009_81365_81365).
Even with oil prices increasing considerably it still will be too expensive to produce oil out of sands and so on as the energy and therefore production prices do increase as well.
It is certainly positive that Bezdek has audience in Australia but beeing too positive does not really impact as much as is needed.
